Focus Feed — Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 23, 2026

Focus Feed is a browser extension that lets you filter your Facebook News Feed so you only see posts from the friends, pages, and groups you choose. This policy explains what data the extension handles and how.

In short: Focus Feed stores everything locally on your own computer. It does not send your data to us, to any server, or to any third party. We have no servers and we never receive your information.

What data the extension accesses

To do its job, Focus Feed reads the following directly from the Facebook pages you visit while you are logged in:

The extension also stores the tags, filtering rules, and on/off preferences that you create.

Where your data is stored

All of the above is saved only on your device, using the browser's local extension storage (chrome.storage.local). It never leaves your computer. The extension does not use cloud sync, does not have a backend server, and does not transmit, upload, or sell any of this information.

Network requests

The only network requests the extension makes are read-only (GET) requests to facebook.com itself, used solely to resolve a group's web address into its numeric ID during a list update. No data is sent to any other destination, and no analytics, tracking, or advertising services are used.

Data sharing

We do not share, transfer, or sell your data to anyone, because we never collect or receive it in the first place. Your information stays between your browser and Facebook.

Limited Use disclosure

Focus Feed's use of information accessed through the extension adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Information accessed by the extension is used only to provide the extension's single purpose — filtering your News Feed — and is never transferred to third parties, used for advertising, or used to determine creditworthiness.

Removing your data

You can clear all stored data at any time by using the "Clear" buttons in the extension's options page, or by removing the extension from your browser, which deletes its local storage.

Children's privacy

Focus Feed is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
